Originally from Israel, Rabbi Yudi Winterfeld moved to Montreal at a young age.  He studied Talmud, Jewish law and mysticism at the Rabbinical College of Canada and Torat Emet Rabbinical Academy in Jerusalem, Israel.

After interning as Rabbi in the Jewish communities of Warsaw, Krakow, Gdansk and Wroclaw, Poland, Rabbi Winterfeld returned to Montreal to mentor Jewish teens and go on to be a youth director at a local Jewish center.

Rebbetzin Bruchy Winterfeld was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY.  A passionate teacher, she studied at the Beis Chaya Mushka Teachers' Seminary. She then took her skills to Long Island, NY, Randolph, NJ and Philadelphia, PA, where she taught and directed programs at local Jewish schools, centers and camps.

The Winterfelds share a passion for Judaism, Torah and serving the Jewish community. Together with their children, they are committed to build and strengthen the Jewish community of Outremont, The Plateau and the eastern part of Montreal.

The origins of today’s Chabad-Lubavitch organization can be traced to the early 1940s, when the sixth Lubavitcher Rebbe, Rabbi Yosef Yitzchak Schneersohn of righteous memory (1880–1950), appointed his son-in-law and later successor, Rabbi Menachem Mendel, to head the newly founded educational and social service arms of the movement.
